Vietnam chairs 46th meeting of Board of Trustees of ASEAN Foundation

Jakarta (VNA) – Ambassador Nguyen Hai Bang, PermanentRepresentative of Vietnam to ASEAN, on June 10 presided over the 46th meeting of the Board of Trustees of the ASEAN Foundation (AF BOT 46), in hiscapacity as chair of the board in 2021.
He thanked for efforts and contributions by the ASEAN Foundation,and congratulated the foundation for winning two Global Good Governance (3G)Awards.
The meeting looked at limitations as well as developmentorientations for the foundation in the second half of this year.
Accordingly, the foundation will further focus onstrategic targets such as raising the awareness about ASEAN, improving its capacity and brand, and seeking more funds to implement projects servingASEAN’s priorities in COVID-19 impact mitigation, science-technology,innovation, renovation, and young human resources development.
The delegates also lauded the foundation’s performanceover the past time despite the pandemic outbreak.
The foundation has implemented programmes andinitiatives in education, arts and culture, communications and communitybuilding, notably projects under the KONNECT ASEAN programme, the ASEAN datascience explorer (ADSE) contest, the ASEAN Foundation Model ASEAN Meeting(AFMAM), and others for young people in the region, the meeting heard./.
