Addressing the event, which drew more than300 Vietnamese and foreign delegates, Canadian Consul General in Ho Chi MinhCity Behzad Babakhani highlighted the sound relations between Tra Vinhprovince, and Tra Vinh University, in particular, thanks to the success of theVietnam-Canada Community College project and other Canadian-funded projects.
He said that the conference aims to fosterpartnerships between the two sides while encouraging cooperation activities inthe field of vocational training, and labour market development as well ascollaboration programmes in education, scientific research, digitaltransformation in teaching and learning activities, student and lecturerexchange, and apprentice receiving.
Chairman of the People’s Committee of Tra Vinh province Le Van Han thanked the CanadianGovernment for supporting the province to develop Tra Vinh University fromthe Vietnam-Canada Community College model, which has greatly contributed todeveloping human resources for the province, the region and the whole country.
During the two-day event, participants shared practical experiences anddiscussed issues related to the Vietnam-Canada Community College model inVietnam, the student recruitment of Vietnamese students, and internationalcooperation for the sustainable development of human resources for agricultureand fisheries sectors amid climate change, and other environmental factors.
On the occasion, Tra Vinh University andthe Council for International Education of British Columbia, the CanadianAssociation of Public Schools, Nova Scotia Community College of Canada and the VietnamAssociation of Community Colleges (VACC) signed memoranda of understanding inthe fields of promoting digital transformation in teaching and learningactivities; developing curricula and teaching programmes; transferring andrecruiting students; cooperating in training projects and scientific researches;and jointly contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals regardinghigher education./.
