The document was signed by Denise Amyot, Presidentand CEO of Colleges and Institutes Canada (CIC) (formerly theAssociation of Canadian Community Colleges - ACCC), and Trinh Quan Dong,General Director of the Khoi Nguyen Education Investment andDevelopment Joint-Stock Company (KNE).
Addressing the signingceremony in Ottawa on June 27, Amyot expressed her pleasure at theopportunity for cooperation in the field with Vietnam, and said it willhelp Canada popularise its colleges in the country, provide technicalassistance to the establishment of an English academy and aCanadian-modelled college in Ho Chi Minh City, and promote studentexchange programmes with foreign universities and colleges.
CICVice-President of International Partnerships Paul Brennan introduced theCanadian education system, especially colleges aiming to develop skillsthat can meet requirements of the labour market.
The CICrepresents 133 colleges and public institutes in Canada, includingcommunity colleges, institutes of technology, health, justice, andagriculture.
The KNE focuses on developing education in Vietnamand investing in the Canadian International School (CIS) system throughtraining programmes to get Ontario province and international highschool certificates.-VNA
