Two-way trade between Vietnam and Cambodia in the first fourmonths of the year reached 1.3 billion USD, a 10 percent rise over thesame period last year.
According to the VietnamCommercial Service in Cambodia, Vietnam’s exports to Cambodiafetched over 1 billion USD while its imports were 253 million USD in thefour-month period.
Some Vietnamese commodities saw double increases in export turnover, including fruit and vegetables, and fibre.
However, the export turnover of high-value products such as oil andgas, and steel dropped compared to the same period last year.
During the period, Cambodia’s exports to Vietnam slightlyincreased with such staples as corn, tobacco materials, rubber, andwooden products.
Vietnam is now Cambodia’s secondlargest trade partner with two-way trade recording 3.3 billion USD in2012, up 17 percent against the previous year./.
