Hanoi (VNA) – A meeting of the Vietnam-Cambodia Joint Committee onLand Border Demarcation and Marker Planting took place in Hanoifrom March 29-31.
The Vietnamese side was led by Le Hoai Trung, Deputy Minister and Chairman ofthe National Boundary Commission under the Foreign Ministry, while theCambodian side was headed by Var Kim Hong, Senior Minister in charge of borderaffairs.
At the meeting, the two sides affirmed highest determination and efforts tocomplete 84 percent of the border demarcation and marker planting and legalisethe accomplishment.
In this spirit, the two sides reviewed the implementation of the work over thepast time and agreed to put forth orientations, plans and roadmap, measures tocarry out the work in the coming time.
They also reached an agreement on building legal documents recognising theoutcome of the border demarcation and maker planting.
On March 31 afternoon, the co-chairs of the Vietnam-Border Joint Committee onBorder Demarcation and Border Marker Planting signed a minutes of the meeting inthe witness of the Prime Ministers of Vietnam and Cambodia. – VNA
