The event was to reviewtwo years of implementing a joint statement reached at the 2012conference in Ratanakiri province, Cambodia, share experience inbuilding the two countries’ borderline of peace and friendship betweenthe two fronts and provinces sharing borders, and sign a joint statementdetailing their 2014-2016 tasks.
Vice President and GeneralSecretary of VFF Central Committee Vu Trong Kim, in his speech, wassatisfied with the improvement of mutual understanding between localsliving in border areas via cultural, music and sports events, since thejoint statement on building a borderline of peace, friendship andcomprehensive cooperation between the two countries was signed two yearsago.
Both sides have joined in efforts to reduce poverty whilecombating cross-border smuggling and crushing plots to undermine theirfriendship, he said.
