Vietnam and Cambodia will continue their close coordination to effectively implement legal documents regarding the land border to ensure a shared borderline of friendship, peace, stability, cooperation and sustainable development.

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam and Cambodia willcontinue their close coordination to effectively implement legal documentsregarding the land border to ensure a shared borderline of friendship, peace,stability, cooperation and sustainable development.

The consensus was reach at the 11th meeting oncooperation and development between border provinces of Vietnam and Cambodia onOctober 28.

Vietnamese Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh, and Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister andMinister of Interior Sar Kheng co-chaired the event that was held inthe form of videoconference.

The two sides shared the view that despite impacts ofthe COVID-19 pandemic, Vietnam and Cambodia have maintained the developmentmomentum of bilateral ties. It is worthy of note that they have coordinated andsupported each other in the pandemic combat in a timely and effective manner.

Remarkable achievements have been recorded in cooperationbetween central agencies and local authorities of Vietnamese and Cambodian borderprovinces over the past time, particularly in land border demarcation andmarker planting, border and border gate management, and protecting security andorder in border areas, they said.

They also highlighted collaboration betweenorganisations and people-to-people exchanges between the border localities.

The two sides agreed to further raise the efficiency ofcoordination in responding to COVID-19, and were resolved to maintain thebilateral trade growth.

The 12th meeting is scheduled to be held inVietnam next year./.
