Cooperation in personnel training dominated a meeting between leadersof the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) and the Banking University of HoChi Minh City (BUH) on January 21.

The Cambodian delegationis on a working visit to Vietnam at the invitation of the Governor ofthe State Bank of Vietnam Nguyen Van Binh.

At the HCM Citymeeting, Nguyen Anh Tu, Deputy Director of the BUH’s InternationalCooperation Department, expressed his hope that the visit willcontribute to boosting cooperation in training and research between theuniversity and the NBC’s units, thus helping realise cooperationagreements reached by the two banks’ governors.

Since thesigning of a memorandum of understanding on training cooperation betweenthe BUH and the NBC’s Training Centre in March 2012, the Vietnameseuniversity has launched four courses for Cambodian banking officials inthe country.

Another programme on training finance-bankinggraduates is scheduled to be implemented for NBC staff in the nearfuture, he said.

Earlier on January 17, NBC Governor CheaChanto and Binh devoted a lot of time during their talks in Hanoi todiscuss cooperation in human resource development.

The twosides exchanged experience in supervising the banking system, managingthe monetary policy and preventing dollarisation.-VNA
