Vietnam, Cambodia enhance public security ties

Phnom Penh (VNA) – Deputy Minister of Public Security Bui Van Nam held talks withCambodian Minister of State at the Interior Ministry Ouk Kimlek in Phnom Penhon March 16, discussing cooperation in ensuring security in their respectivecountries.

At thefunction, both sides exchanged opinions on international and regional affairsof mutual concern.

Lauding thegood outcomes of engagements between the two nations’ public security bodiesover the past time, they said that the two sides need to collaborate in implementingthe communiqué of the 9th Vietnam – Cambodia conference oncooperation and development among border provinces, particularly in ensuringborder security, and organising events marking the Vietnam – Cambodiafriendship year 2017.

The Vietnameseside suggested the Cambodian home ministry to facilitate the lives ofVietnamese expatriates.

The sameday, Deputy Minister Nam met with Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Samdech Sar Kheng, who praised effective cooperation between the twocountries’ police forces in the fight against crime.   

He said heexpects the two sides will continue working together to tackle organised and trans-border crimes, for security andsocio-economic development of both nations.-VNA
