Vietnam boosts cooperation with Kazakh ruling party

Hanoi (VNA) - Hoang BinhQuan, member of the Party Central Committee and headof the Committee’s Commission for External Relations, is visiting Kazakhstanfrom April 20 to 25, at the invitation of the ruling Democratic People's Party Nur Otan.

TheVietnamese official has met with delegations of the Nur Otan party, led by FirstDeputy Chairman Mukhtar Kul-Mukhamed, and of the Communist People's Party ofKazakhstan, led by Secretary of its Central Committee Zhambyl Akhmetbekov.

Healso met with Gulmira Isinbayeva, deputy chairperson of the lower chamber of theKazakh Parliament.

Throughthese meetings, both sides informed each other on domestic affairs of theirrespective nations and exchanged opinions on the official establishment ofrelations between their ruling parties.

Measuresto boost ties between Vietnamese and Kazakh parliaments, governments and peopleand bilateral cooperation at multilateral forums were also discussed.

Expressingtheir pleasure to see parliamentary ties playing a significant role, the sidessaid experience exchanges between key bodies of the two parliaments wouldcontribute to deepening Vietnam-Kazakhstan traditional friendship.

Theyagreed that bilateral cooperation is making progress in trade, transportation,culture, and sports.

TheKazakh side said they consider Vietnam an important partner in theAsia-Pacific.

Regardingthe East Sea issue, Quanexpressed wish that Kazakhstan will actively supportthe maintenance of peace, security, and safe navigation and overflight as wellas peaceful settlement of disputes on the waters in line with internationallaw, particularly the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea(UNCLOS).-VNA
