Vietnam bolsters cooperation with China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region

The Party, Government and people of Vietnam always pay attention to and support the friendship and practical cooperation of the country’s ministries and localities with China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, a Vietnamese official said on March 20.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Party, Government and people of Vietnam always payattention to and support the friendship and practical cooperation of thecountry’s ministries and localities with China’s Guangxi Zhuang AutonomousRegion, a Vietnamese official said on March 20.

DeputyPrime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh made thestatement in Hanoi while receiving Lu Xinshe, Party Secretary of Guangxi, whois currently paying a visit to Vietnam.

At themeeting, the Vietnamese official spoke highly of the positive developments ofthe Vietnam-China relations over the recent time and asked Vietnameselocalities and Guangxi to continue their cooperation in and implementation of efficientmeasures to bolster practical collaboration in economy, trade, transportation,agriculture, and tourism in a balanced and sustainable manner.

The twosides were instructed to bolster partnership in opening and upgrading bordergates, thereby facilitating customs clearance and ensuring the implementationof three legal instruments on the Vietnam-China border.

They werealso asked to ascertain the implementation of the cooperation agreements on protecting and exploiting tourismresources within the Ban Gioc Waterfall vicinity between Vietnam and China, andon the travel of vessels in the free navigation area at the mouth of the BacLuan River.

The sides were tasked with ensuring border securityand order together towards the building of a Vietnam-China border of peace,stability, friendship, cooperation, and development.

Minh also requested Guangxi to bolster the importof agro-forestry-fishery products and other goods that Vietnam holds strengthin, while encouraging major businesses in the autonomous region to invest inVietnam.

For his part, Lu Xinshe voiced his delight overthe development of the China-Vietnam ties, as well as recent achievements inthe partnership between Guangzi and Vietnamese localities.

He also expressed his hope for the implementationof important common perceptions reached between the two countries’ seniorleaders and to ensure the implementation of signed agreements on friendshipexchange enhancement with Vietnamese border provinces, contributing to theChina-Vietnam comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership. –VNA
