Vietnam - Belgium relations constantly developing

Belgian Ambassador to Vietnam Karl Van den Bossche referred to Vietnam as a responsible, reliable, and stable partner in an interview with the Vietnam News Agency on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties.

Since the establishment of relations on March 22, 1973, the friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam - Belgium have only grown.

The two sides have actively coordinated in multilateral forums. Political-diplomatic relations have developed positively and been substantively demonstrated through many high-level visits.

In particular, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s official visit to Belgium last December contributed to deepening the relationship.

Belgium is currently Vietnam 6th-largest trading partner in the EU. As of February, it had 87 valid investment projects in Vietnam with total investment of 1.1 billion USD, ranking it 23rd out of 142 countries and territories with investment.

Over the past 50 years, Vietnam and Belgium have enjoyed fruitful partnerships across all fields, from politics and diplomacy to economy, culture, and people-to-people exchanges.

A number of activities will be held in both Vietnam and Belgium this year to boost the relationship./.
