– Lieut.Gen. Phung Si Tan, deputy chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’sArmy, on October 29 received Colonel Buzin Nikolai Evgenievich, deputy head ofthe General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus.

The Belarusian officer’s visit takes place in the context that defencecooperation between the two countries is being stepped up, especially after thevisit to Vietnam by Belarusian Defence Minister RavkovAndrei Alekseevich in November 2018.

Host and guest shared the view that military science is an important area ofcooperation between the two countries.

Tan described Evgenievich’s visit as a demonstration of goodwill and showed thetwo countries’ determination to realise cooperation commitments in this sphere.

Evgenievich informed his host of the outcomes of his working session with theDepartment of Military Science under the Vietnamese Ministry of NationalDefence, during which they set forth measures to implement cooperationagreements.

Tan suggested the two sides instruct relevant agencies to share information andexperience in scientific research and conduct expert exchanges./.
