Vietnam Autoexpo 2018 opens in Hanoi

Hanoi (VNA) –The 15th Vietnam International Exhibition on Automobile & Transportationand Supporting Industry (Vietnam Autoexpo 2018) opened in Hanoi on June 6.

Coving in an area of 10,000 square metres with 450 booths, the event introducesnew products and services in automobile, motorbike and supporting industry inVietnam.

Along with Vietnamese products by the Vietnam Engine and Agriculture MachineryCorporation, the four-day exhibition highlights brands from Russia, theRepublic of Korea and China such as Gaz Group Faw Group, HongYan Truck and KCMotors, along with big names such as Ducati, Harley, Davidson, Triumph, RoyalEnfield and Kawasak.

At the same time,the exhibition gives much space to feature new products in support industry,spare parts, accessories, and automobile and motorbike maintenance productsfrom various companies including Dunlop, CNC Hanoi, Daichi, Yangmin, Vietmap,Fast Auto and Nam Vu.

Atthe opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai saidthat the Vietnam AutoExpo 2018 is significant to local businesses to meet withtheir foreign firms to discuss investment opportunities and expand their markets.

Automobile has been built into a key industry in Vietnam to meet domesticdemands on trucks, passenger cars and specialised cars, he said, adding thatthe Government has paid due attention to branch out support industry with aline-up of favourable policies.

Furthermore, Vietnam is striving to become a supplier of high value spare partsand details in the global automobile production chain.

With such conditions, Vietnamese automobile industry and support industry havehuge potential for businesses to land investment, he noticed.

Within the annual event’s framework, a thematic conference will be held todiscuss the development of support industry and the connection of demand andsupply sources for the production and assembling of commercial and special-useautomobiles in Vietnam.

This year, the event is expected to attract 50,000 visitors.

Last year, the exhibition drew 120 enterprises and welcomed about 40,000visitors.-VNA
