Geneva (VNA) – Vietnam’s efforts and achievements in protecting and promotingcivil and political rights will be shared at the 125th session of the UnitedNations Human Rights Committee in Geneva, Switzerland, from March 11-12.
At this session, theHuman Rights Committee will review Vietnam’s third national report on theimplementation of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights(ICCPR).
Deputy Minister of Justice Nguyen Khanh Ngoc will attend the event.
Vietnam submitted its third national report on the ICCPR enforcement and a reportin reply to a list of issues of interest of the UN Human Rights Committee. Theyall showed Vietnam’s efforts in improving policies and regulations on humanrights as well as the country’s comprehensive development in protecting andpromoting civil and political rights after the second report presented in 2002.
The ICCPR is an international human rights treaty adopted by the United Nationsin 1966.-VNA
