Seoul (VNA) – Vietnam’s traditional costumes and handicraft products impressed visitors to the 53rd Seoul International Charity Bazaar, which aims to raise funds for disadvantaged people, in the Republic of Korea on November 9.
Together with Vietnam, the event attracted the participation of 52 foreign diplomatic offices and international organisations in Seoul, and various charity organisations, businesses and music bands from around the world.
President of the Seoul International Women’s Association Anne Choe said that thanks to the support from diplomatic representative offices and international organisations, the scale of the bazaar has been expanded.
In addition to the fund-raising purpose, the annual event offers a venue for participating countries to promote the image of their land and people as well as their handicraft products and cuisine.
Established since 1970, the Seoul bazaar draws more than 5,000 visitors each year. The total money raised through the bazaars amounts to over 2 billion won (1.72 million USD) which has been used for social and charitable activities.-VNA
