Vietnam attends int’l food, beverage fair in Malaysia

Vietnam has displayed its potential products at the international food and beverage fair in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on June 19-21, with a hope of boosting exports of the products to the country and other global markets.
Vietnam has displayed its potential products at the international foodand beverage fair in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on June 19-21, with a hopeof boosting exports of the products to the country and other globalmarkets.

At the event, which has drawn over 300 businesses fromnearly 30 countries and territories, the Vietnamese Embassy to Malaysiais also showcasing publications and documents on Vietnam’s investmentand business environment, which has grown rapidly in recent times.

Through the fair, Vietnamese products are expected to be welcomed andintroduced to visitors, allowing Vietnam to promote its image andproducts to the world. This will contribute to boosting the country’sexports of food and beverages, said the embassy’s Trade CounsellorNguyen Son Ha.

During the first day, Vietnamese products,including coffee, tea, canned fruits and food, drew numerous businessesand visitors to learn and exchange information.

Malaysia is Vietnam’s third largest trade partners in ASEAN.

Since2010, the two countries have seen a strong growth of over 20 percent inbilateral trade. In 2013, two-way trade reached 9.1 billion USD, ayear-on-year rise of 15.25 percent. Of this figure, Vietnam’s export wasvalued at over 4.9 billion USD.-VNA
