Vietnam assists Laos in training reporters

A training course for Lao reporters was opened in Vientaine on December 23 by the Vietnamese Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) in coordination with the Lao Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism (MICT).

Director General of the MICT’s Mass MediaDepartment Pin Phatthana said that the country is strongly integratinginto the international community, thus requiring its reporters toacquire more specialised knowledge and experience.

Such training courses offered by the Vietnamese side have helped improve its reporters’ capacity, he added.

Phatthana thanked the MIC for its assistance to the Lao press andurged trainees to try their hardest to fulfil the goals of the course.-VNA

The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on October 21 signed a cooperation agreement with Uiseong county, Gyeongsangbuk-do province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on sending local labourers to the RoK to work seasonally under the form of locality-to-locality collaboration between the two countries in the 2023 - 2027 period.

Tien Giang strives to reduce poverty rate to 0.87% this year
