Director General of thecompany Hang Phi Quang said his firm has provided corn seed for Laossince 1998 via the Lao Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
As of 2013, it has exported more than 700 tonnes of corn seed to Laos,representing an approximate 20 percent market share.
With the new office, the company targets a market share of over 30 percent in Laos within two or three years.
Apart from seed provision, the business has assisted Lao farmers inraising production output by teaching them agricultural knowledge andpiloting high-yield farming models.
For their part, officialsof the Lao agriculture ministry welcomed the Vietnamese office andexpressed their hope that the firm’s quality products will help theirlocalities, particularly eight northern provinces, step up povertyalleviation, thus contributing to the sustainable development of theVietnam–Laos relations.-VNA
