Hanoi (VNA) –Cambodia’s Ministry of Information held a ceremony in Phnom Penh on October 27to receive six radio transmitters granted by the Vietnamese Government to localradio and television stations.

At the handover ceremony, CambodianMinister of Information Khieu Kanharith thanked the Vietnamese Government forassisting the country’s media sector, particularly in providing experts andequipment.

In 2015, also through Radio theVoice of Vietnam (VOV), the Vietnamese Government donated 15 radio transmittersto Cambodia to help local authorities spread the Cambodian Government’spolicies and laws among residents.

This year, Vietnam is assistingCambodia in installing equipment for four radio and two television stations insix provinces. VOV technicians are working to complete the project before theend of the year.

The assistance is part of an agreementof the Vietnam-Cambodia Joint Committee for economic, cultural, and scientificand technological cooperation.-VNA
