Hanoi (VNA) – Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue, who is alsohead of the National Steering Committee on Price Management, has recently issuedinstructions to authorities to cope with rising pork prices.
He has asked the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) to workwith the Ministries of Finance, and Industry and Trade as well as the GeneralStatistics Office (GSO) to evaluate pork demand and supply until the end of2019.
They have been urged to outline measures to stabilise pork prices, especiallyduring festivals and the Lunar New Year 2020, including imports to ensuresufficient supply.
The GSO will work with relevant agencies to assess the impact of pork prices onthe consumer price index (CPI), and curb the index in line with the target setby the National Assembly and the Government.
Deputy PM Hue assigned the MARD and GSO to submit reports to him before October21./.
