Berlin (VNA) - Vietjet and Lufthansa Technik AG, a member of Lufthansa AG, have signed a technical service agreement for Vietjet's current A320-family aircraft engines.

The signing of the landmark agreement on November 25 was witnessed by Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Germany's foreign minister, and Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang, who was on a state visit to Germany to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Germany and Vietnam.

Under the agreement, Lufthansa Technik AG will provide Vietjet with top-of-the-range solutions in technology, maintenance service and technical maintenance, as well as consultation on key technical projects, technical training for staff and other consulting services. The Vietnamese airline will support Lufthansa Technik AG in accessing large markets in the Asia-Pacific region, one of the areas with the maximum potential in the field of aviation.

The agreement will also pave the way for both groups to jointly construct a platform to develop facilities and technical expertise that achieve top domestic and international standards.-VNA
