Hanoi (VNA) – Vietjet Air’s VJ261 flight en routefrom Dong Hoi to Ho Chi Minh City on June 26 made an emergency landing in DaNang to save one of its passengers.
Shortly after the flight took off at 7:15 pm, flightattendants discovered that a female passenger could not breathe normally. Firstaid was carried out immediately but the health condition of the 27-year-oldpassenger showed no signs of improvement.
Facing such situation, the captain decided to make anemergency landing at Da Nang airport.
At 20:13 pm, a doctor got on the aircraft to check on thepassenger, concluding that she could not continue her flight. The woman and hercompanion were supported to rush to the hospital at 20:25 pm.
A representative from Vietjet Air said the emergency landingaffected nearly 200 passengers, but the airline always prioritises itspassengers’ safety.
With a fleet of over 60 aircraft, including the A320 andA321, Vietjet Air operates 385 flights each day. The airline has alreadytransported over 60 million passengers on a network featuring 93 routes inVietnam and across the region to international destinations such as Thailand,Singapore, the Republic of Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, Malaysia,Indonesia, Myanmar and Cambodia.
The airline plans to operate more than 120,000 flights andserve over 24.1 million passengers by the end of 2018 on a total of 39 domesticand 61 international routes.-VNA
