Hanoi (VNA) – The national label for Vietnamese handicrafts – Vietcraft Excellence – was released in Hanoi on November 17.
According to Vietnam Handicraft Exporters Association Chairman Do Nhu Dinh, the brand originated from a green production project to create livelihoods for needy communities in rural areas. It promotes local products based their core values and encourages sustainability.
To attain the accreditation, businesses need to fulfil 46 criteria for their production and consumption processes.
The accredited firms see greater chances to access the European market, to which Vietnam exports more than 550 million EUR worth of handicrafts each year.-VNA
