Vice President leaves Hanoi for Mongolia, Japan

Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh left Hanoi on May 7 for an official visit to Mongolia from May 7-10 with a view to strengthening bilateral economic, labour, education, cultural and tourism ties.

Hanoi (VNA) – Vice PresidentDang Thi Ngoc Thinh left Hanoi on May 7 for an official visit to Mongolia fromMay 7-10 with a view to strengthening bilateral economic, labour, education,cultural and tourism ties.

She is due to hold talks with the MongolianPrime Minister, witness the signing of a cooperation agreement between the twocountries, and meet the President and Speaker of the Mongolian Parliament.

The Vice President will also attendthe Vietnam – Mongolia business exchange and receive the management board andstudents of a high school named after President Ho Chi Minh.

Following the visit, she will travelto Japan to attend the 27th Global Summit of Women (GWS) from May10-16.

The trip aims to further strengthen theextensive strategic partnership with Japan, especially in the fields ofeconomy, labour, agriculture; boost ties with Fukuoka prefecture, therebyreinforcing links between the two countries’ localities and businesses andattracting Japanese investment in Vietnam.

As scheduled, Thinh will pay courtesycalls to Japanese Emperor and Empress; meet Crown Prince, the President of theHouse of Councilors, the President of the Japan-Vietnam FriendshipParliamentary Alliance, and the Minister in charge of Women’s Empowerment;attend two Vietnam-Japan business exchanges in Tokyo and Fukuoka and meetVietnamese students in Fukuoka.

The GWS, scheduled for May 11-15,takes the theme “Beyond Womenomics: Accelerating Access” which focuses discussionson speeding up women’s ascent to business leadership, scaling up the growth ofwomen-owned enterprises, opening up the global market to women in business, movingmore women into technology industries and fostering support policies for women.

As many as 50 Vietnamese femaleexecutives will attend the event, many of whom are partners of Japan in diverseareas. - VNA
