He made the call whenmeeting with participants of the first forum for overseas Vietnameseintellectuals on Vietnam’s development and integration from 2016 to 2020in Hanoi on June 7.
The VFF leader asked OVcommunity to contribute their ideas on how to turn Vietnam into anagricultural and tourism power and a new manufacturing centre of theworld. He said the country also needs to develop a system of smartcities and a contingent of scientists and technicians who are among thetop three in the ASEAN region.
Speaking at themeeting, Deputy Foreign Minister Vu Hong Nam emphasised that at theforum, overseas Vietnamese scientists and experts from different fieldshad made constructive recommendations on issues important to thecountry’s development, including innovating growth models, restructuringthe economy, industrialisation and modernisation processes, as well aseducation overhaul.
He reported that many of the OVsproposed organising the forum regularly to allow them to contribute morein national development.-VNA
