VFF Vice President and General Secretary Tran Thanh Man made the suggestion onJanuary 19 when receiving Vice Standing Chairmanof the VBS's ExecutiveCouncil, Most Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu during his visit to wish the VFFa happy Tet (Lunar New Year).
At the reception, Man wished the VBS and Buddhist followers a happy new year, expressing his hope that the VBS, togetherwith the VFF, brings a warm and happy Tet to the poor across the country.
The VFF official reviewed the formation and development of the VBS overthe last 35 years, and highlighted its efforts to effectively implement emulationmovements.
Most Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu said he hopes the VFF will implementeffectively campaigns and movements that it launched, thus strengthening thegreat national unity.
In recent times, the VBS actively has participated in a wide range of activitiesrelating to environmental protection, poverty reduction, help for the poor andethnic groups as well as support for victims of natural disasters and floods inthe central and Central Highlands regions, he said.
The Most Venerable affirmed the VBS and Buddhist monks, nuns and followers willactively join movements launched by the VFF, contributing to the country’sdevelopment.-VNA
