Thua Thien-Hue (VNA) – A number of headquartersof agencies, railway stations, hotels, and medical centres at communes anddistricts in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue have been upgraded over thepast three years in order to improve their level of disability access.
This is one of the results of the project on supportingpeople with disabilities in the province funded by the US Agency forInternational Development (USAID) via the Action to the Community Development Centre(ACDC).
Ho Dan – Deputy Director of the provincial Department ofLabour, Invalids, and Social Affairs – said at a meeting to review outcomes ofthe project in Hue city on August 14, that more than 2,480 people withdisabilities would be able to receive free legal consultations under theproject.
The project takes place from October 2015 to September 2018with a total funding of 5.3 billion VND (about 250,000 USD), aiming to protectthe legitimate rights and interests of people with disabilities in the locality.
In 2019, Thua Thien-Hue will strive to provide services forpeople with disabilities with funding from the USAID through The InternationalCentre. –VNA
