Jakarta (VNA) – US Vice PresidentMichael Pence arrived at the Halim Perdana Kusuma Airport in Jakarta on late April19, starting his two-day visit to Indonesia.

The US Vice President is scheduled to pay acourtesy visit to Indonesian President Joko Widodo and hold talks with hisIndonesian counterpart Jusuf Kalla.

The two Vice Presidents will witness the signing of five memoranda ofunderstanding in energy and information technology at the US – IndonesiaBusiness Forum on April 21.

Besides, the US official will have a meeting with ASEAN Secretary General LeLuong Minh as part of activities to commemorate the 40th anniversary ofASEAN-US relations.

He also plans to visit the Istiqlal Mosque in Jakarta and meet with leaders ofseveral religions.-VNA
