US university provides scholarships for Vietnamese students

Representatives of Eastern International University (EIU) in southern Binh Duong province and Portland State University (PSU) in the US’s Oregon State signed a memorandum of understanding on granting scholarships to Vietnamese students to learn at the PSU on July 3.

PSU President Wim Wiewel said that this is part of the university’sscholarship fund for Vietnamese students worth 6 million USD.

Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Tran Van Nam spoke highly of cooperation between the two universities.

He hoped that the connection will help train high-quality humanresources for Binh Duong province, pledging to create favourableconditions for the cooperation.

The PSU nowpartners a number of Vietnamese universities, including the EIU, HanoiUniversity of Foreign Trade, and National Economics University.-VNA

The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on October 21 signed a cooperation agreement with Uiseong county, Gyeongsangbuk-do province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on sending local labourers to the RoK to work seasonally under the form of locality-to-locality collaboration between the two countries in the 2023 - 2027 period.

Tien Giang strives to reduce poverty rate to 0.87% this year
