Washington D.C. (VNA) - US Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken on September 1 (Hanoi time) offered his best wishes to the Vietnamese Government and people on the occasionof the country’s 78th National Day (September 2).

The US supports a strong, prosperous, independent, andresilient Vietnam, Blinken affirmed, adding that his country cherishes thepartnership that the two countries’ governments and people have built togetherand lookd forward to working together on priorities that further their sharedgoal of a prosperous, open, resilient, and peaceful Indo-Pacific Region.

He also said in a media statement by the Department of State that he looks forward to President Biden’s historic visit to Hanoion September 10 to celebrate all the two countries have achieved together and to plan for their shared future./.
