US Embassy to host 10 educational events in Hanoi

The US Embassy will hold a series of ten education-related events that are free and open to the public in the capital city of Hanoi from November 15-20 to mark the 11 th annual International Education Week (IEW).

The events will include documentary filmshowing and presentations on the US government’s scholarshipprogrammes as well as on living and studying in the US .

All of these events will be held at the American Centre, located at1F Rose Garden Tower , 170 Ngoc Khanh Street , Ba Dinhdistrict.

IEW, a joint initiative of the US Department of State and the USDepartment of Education, is held in the third week of November each yearto celebrate the benefits of international education exchange.

Each year more than 600,000 international students, including over13,000 from Vietnam , choose to study in the US , said USAmbassador to Vietnam Michael W. Michalak.

Since1995, the US government has provided nearly 1,000 degree andnon-degree scholarships in Vietnam , totalling more than 75 millionUSD, he added./.

The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on October 21 signed a cooperation agreement with Uiseong county, Gyeongsangbuk-do province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on sending local labourers to the RoK to work seasonally under the form of locality-to-locality collaboration between the two countries in the 2023 - 2027 period.
