Urban indicators and urban managementin Vietnam were the main theme of an UN Habitat - seminar in thenorthern province of Ninh Binh on Nov. 7.

Theseminar, held by the Association of Cities of Vietnam (ACVN) and the UNHuman Settlements Programme (UN Habitat), is intended to develop anurban observatory system and a data system to assess small andmedium-sized urban activities.

Vietnam is hometo more than 700 cities and towns whose population represents 30 percentof the country’s total. However, the country hasn’t got the urbanobservatory system to monitor the implementation of millenniumdevelopment goals (MDGs).

Under the urban observatorysystem project which is being carried out by the ACVN with the fundingof the UN Habitat, a pilot urban observatory system will be set up tocollect the latest datas on 96 urban areas in Vietnam according todraft urban indicators./.

The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on October 21 signed a cooperation agreement with Uiseong county, Gyeongsangbuk-do province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on sending local labourers to the RoK to work seasonally under the form of locality-to-locality collaboration between the two countries in the 2023 - 2027 period.

Tien Giang strives to reduce poverty rate to 0.87% this year

Chinese sick sailor on vessel AMIS STAR provided with first aid
