Hanoi (VNA) – Tropical typhoon Tembinwith wind speed of 90km per hour, made landfall in Cateel in southernPhilippines on December 22 morning.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical andAstronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that the storm wasspotted near Laak, Compostela Valley. It is moving west at 20 kph.
The agency also forecasted moderate-heavy rains willprevail over Visayas (in central Philippines) and Mindanao within 24 hours,warning residents in the area of possible flooding and landslides.
So far, the government disaster agency has not receivedany reports of casualty and damage. The storm is predicted to left thePhilippines on December 22 night.
The same day, rescue teams in the Philippines saved252 passengers and crewmembers of a ferry carrying 257 people after it wascapsized in the waters East of Manila.
The vessel met the accident after only one hourleaving the port due to bad weather conditions. Meanwhile, at least five were confirmeddead.-VNA
