Tokyo (VNA) – Two Vietnamese sailors were on board the Panama-flagged cargo ship which sank late October 12 inTokyo Bay off Japan where it was anchored as Typhoon Hagibis approached,according to the Japan Coast Guard (JCG).
The JCG saidthe vessel’s tracking signal was lost around 9:40pm (local time).
The twoVietnamese nationals were among the 12-member crew of the 1,925-tonne ship. Tenothers included three Myanmar and seven Chinese.
The accidentkilled one sailor and six remain missing. Four others were rescued by the JCGon October 13 morning, it said.
The fate ofthe Vietnamese sailors remain unknown.
