Two more cities complete new-style rural area building 2017

Hanoi(VNA) – Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue, Head of the Steering Committeefor the national target programme on new-style rural area building  has recognised that Lang Son city in northern LangSon province, and Sa Dec city in southern Dong Thap province have completedtheir 2017 new-style rural area building tasks.

Lang Son city hadall three communes, namely Mai Pha, Hoang Dong, Quang Lac recognised by theprovincial People’s Committee as new-style rural areas in 2014, 2015, and 2016,respectively.

The localitieshave built concrete roads in all communal and 88.67 percent of village roadnetworks. All locals have access to a constant and safe electricity supply. Theannual income per capita reached 27 million VND (1,188 USD). The poorhousehold rate in the three communes fell to one percent.

According to the reportfrom Sa Dec city’s Steering Committee, all three communes in the city havecompleted the new-style rural area building tasks.

The annual incomeper capita reached 32.2 million VND (1,400 USD), 99.8 percent of locals haveaccess to safe electricity and all of them have access to hygienic water.

All schools in thethree communes meet national standards. The poor household rate is 4.5 percent.91.66 percent of local labourers have regular work.-VNA
