Two landscapes in Sa Pa recognised as Vietnam records

Two landscapes in Sa Pa district of the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai have been recognised as Vietnam records by the Vietnam Records Organisation (Vietkings).

Accordingly, O Quy Homountain pass has been recognised as the longest pass in Vietnamand a 121-step terraced field in Vu Lung Sung village, Trung Chaicommune has been named the one with the most steps.

O Quy Hopass, located on National Highway 4D, cuts cross the Hoang Lien SonMountain Range and connects Lao Cai and Lai Chau provinces. It has alength of 50 km.

In the middle of 2012, the internationaltourism information website Globalgrasshopper chose the pass to be inthe top ten of the most beautiful tourist attractions in Vietnam .

Meanwhile, the terraced field in Vu Lung Sung isconsidered one of the most beautiful and oldest terraced fields in SaPa (over 100 years old).

Previously, Lao Caiprovince proposed Vietkings recognising its three landscapes, including acomplex of terraced fields in Muong Hoa valley, covering a total areaof over 935ha in the three communes of Lao Chai, Ta Van and Hau Thao.

Vietkings will present the Vietnam recordcertification to the two landscapes on the occasion of the 110thanniversary of Sa Pa tourism on November 2.

Sa Pa lured nearly 500,000 tourists in the first nine months of this year.-VNA
