Tuyen Quang (VNA) – Officials from the LaoFront for National Construction (LFNC) have asked Vietnam in general andnorthern Tuyen Quang province to help Laos in collecting Lao artifacts and olddocuments during its revolutionary time.
LFNC Vice President Nhotkeomany Suphanuvong and herentourage made the requests at their meetings with leaders of northern TuyenQuang province during their visit to the locality on March 28-29.
During the meetings, the two sides exchangedexperience in history studies and museology. During the anti-French struggle,Vietnam and Laos together fought to free their brothers and liberate the twocountries, said Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party’s Committee NguyenHong Thang. The Lao revolutionary memorial complex in My Bang, Yen Son district,Tuyen Quang is an evidence of the special Vietnam-Laos relations and friendship,he added.
Thang gave his guest an overview of cooperationbetween Tuyen Quang and Lao localities in the areas of agriculture and ruraldevelopment, industry, trade, culture-tourism, and education. Tuyen Qang hasoffered scholarships for 23 students from Xiangkhouang to study in Tan TraoUniversity. The Vietnamese province will continue providing scholarships inshort-term vocational training courses for 10 students from Xiangkhouang thisApril.
Nhotkeomany Suphanuvong, for her part, said her visitto Vietnam aims to strengthen the long-standing ties between the two countries.She briefly updated Tuyen Quang’s leaders on Laos’s recent socio-economicdevelopment, saying the LFNC has played a part in uniting Lao people fromdifferent ethnic minority groups and religions for the national building.
She thanked Tuyen Quang for preserving the Laorevolutionary memorial complex and hoped that the LFNC would learn from theoryand practices of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.-VNA
