Troubled foreign sailor rescued

The Vietnam Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre in Region 4 brought a foreign sailor in distress to hospital in Nha Trang city, central Khanh Hoa province, on May 6.

According to Quan doi Nhandan (People’s Army) newspaper, the troubled foreigner is Htaung GyilianKyaw from Malaysia, working on the Panama-flagged Union Harvestfreighter. At present, he is recovering.

Earlier, on May 5, thecentre received a mayday signal that a sailor on the Union Harvest,after having a serious accident, was in dangerous condition, while theship with its 19-member crew was about 180 nautical miles from Nha Trangcity.-VNA
