The four-day event is organised by Vietnam GeneralConfederation of Labour (VGCL) in collaboration with the InternationalLabour Organisation (ILO) in Asia and the Pacific region, and Japan’s Central Association of Accident Prevention (CAAP).
Accordingto the VGCL, in the process of national industrialisation andmodernisation, ensuring labour hygiene and safety is a must to protectand take care of labourers’ health as well as prevent occupationalaccidents and diseases.
The quality of trade unions’ labour protection activities depends much on the capacity of officials in charge, it said.
During the course, participants have a chance to hear ILO and CAAPexperts talk the experience of Japan and other advanced countries inensuring labour hygiene and safety at production establishments.
In addition, they are divided into group to join fact-finding tours of factories in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province.-VNA
