Hanoi (VNA) – In the firsteleven months of 2017, Vietnam recorded 18,384 traffic accidents that killed7,604 people.
Statistics from the National Committee forTraffic Safety showed another 15,189 people were injured in accidents, most ofwhich took place on the roads.
Compared to the same period last year, thenumbers for traffic accidents, deaths and injuries decreased by 5.38, 3.83, and11.61 percent respectively.
The main causes of accidents were speeding,driving on the wrong lane, and poor driving skills, among others.
In November alone, traffic accidentsamounted to 2,217, with 77 deaths.-VNA
