Among VAMA members, Toyota Vietnam and Honda Vietnam enjoyed the best car sales in March (Photo: VNA)Hanoi (VNA) – Toyota Vietnam and HondaVietnam posted the best car sales in March among members of the VietnamAutomobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA) though both reported year-on-yeardrops in this regard.
Toyota Vietnam said it sold 5,143 automobiles, excludingLexus, in March, down 44 percent from the same period last year.
In particular, it recorded 3,543 domesticallyassembled vehicles sold, including Toyota Vios (2,293 units, down 28 percentyear on year), Toyota Innova (544 units, down 68 percent), Toyota Corolla Altis(226 units, down 19 percent), and Toyota Fortuner (656 units, down 19 percent).
Meanwhile, the sales of imported completely built vehicleslast month reached 1,600, including 420 Toyota Camry units (up 14 percent yearon year).
According to Honda Vietnam, it handed over 1,968automobiles to buyers in March, rising 40 percent from the previous month butstill falling 27 percent from the same period last year.
Its best-selling model was Honda CR-V with 564 unitssold, accounting for 29 percent of the total, followed by Honda City with 476units, 24 percent.
Among VAMA members and TC Motor, a brand of Hyundai Thanh Cong, Toyota Vietnam ranked firstin car sales last month, followed by TC Motor (5,086 units) and HondaVietnam./.
