Hanoi (VNA) – GeneralSecretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President Nguyen Phu Trongon February 27 held talks with US President Donald Trump, who is in Hanoi forthe second DPRK-USA summit.
The two leaders are scheduled to witness the signing of several cooperationdocuments following their talks.
President Trump arrived at Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport on late February26 for his second summit with Chairman of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) andthe State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea(DPRK) Kim Jong-un, who arrived in Vietnam earlier the same day.
Trump was welcomed byMinister-Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung, Standing DeputyMinister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son, Chairman of the Hanoi city People’sCommittee Nguyen Duc Chung, Deputy Minister of Public Security Bui Van Nam,Vice Chairman of the President’s Office Chu Van Yem, and Vietnamese Ambassadorto the US Ha Kim Ngoc.
This is the second time the USPresident has come to Vietnam. In November 2017, he paid an official visit toVietnam and attended the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in the central coastalcity of Da Nang. - VNA
