Top leader stresses strategic-level personnel planning

Hanoi (VNA) – General Secretary of the CommunistParty of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC) and President Nguyen Phu Tronghighlighted the significance of personnel planning, especially at the strategiclevel, at a meeting in Hanoi on November 4.

The building of the strategic personnel planning is toprepare workforce for the personnel work at the 13th National PartyCongress, aiming to set up a contingent of strategic officials who havesufficient virtue, capacity and prestige to successfully lead the cause ofnational construction and defence in the new situation, he said.

The officials must have knowledge of different fields,especially basic political theory, the leader said, stressing the need to paymore attention to training those who have knowledge of Party building and law,along with outstanding intellectuals and prestigious scientists. 

He shared other opinions raised at the meeting that theplanning should be conducted step by step, with regular reviews.

At the meeting, representatives of the CPVCC’s OrganisationCommission announced decisions of the Politburo and Secretariat on theestablishment of a steering board for the building of the strategic personnel planningfor the 2021-2026 tenure and its assistant group.

Accordingly, the steering board comprises six members led byParty General Secretary and President Trong, while its 12-member assistant groupis led by Pham Minh Chinh, Politburo member, Secretary of the CPVCC and head ofthe CPVCC’s Organisation Commission.

Party General Secretary and President Trong underlined theimportant role of the steering board as well as its assistant group, and askedthem to raise the sense of justice in the work.

In November, all-level Party committees and organisations,localities and agencies are scheduled to begin introducing personnel to theplanning for the 13th Party Central Committee. -VNA
