Hanoi (VNA) – Party General Secretary and State President NguyenPhu Trong received outgoing Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Lianys Torres Rivera inHanoi on November 25.

Congratulating the ambassador on fulfilling her missions,Trong appreciated her active and effective contributions to consolidating anddeepening special friendship between the two Parties and countries.

He hailed efforts made by both sides to organisingactivities in celebration of the 60th anniversary of bilateraldiplomatic ties (December 2, 1960-2020).

He expressed his belief that Cuba will overcome alldifficulties and challenges and successfully hold the 8th Congressof the Communist Party of Cuba in April 2021.

For her part, the Cuban ambassador expressed her thanks forsupport by Vietnamese leaders as well as ministries, sectors and localities tohelp her fulfil her working tenure.

She affirmed that in any positions, she will maintaincontributions to the bilateral relations./.
