– The Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang will create optimalcondition for foreign investors, particularly those from Japan, said a localofficial.

While receivingJapanese Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Kawaue Junichi on April 25, Chairmanof the provincial People’s Committee Le Van Huong also briefed the guest on theprovince’s development potential and advantages as well as its trade and investmentopportunities for foreign investors.

For his part, Junichisaid he will connect Japanese investors with Tien Giang province and providesupport in the fields of common interests, including labour export, healthcareand education.

Over the pastyears, Tien Giang and Japan have organised a range of activities to strengthencooperative relations in many areas, including politics, economic development,investment, tourism and labour export.

Tien Giangshipped more than 150 million USD worth of goods to Japan in 2016, up nearly 40percent from the previous year, while importing 62 million USD worth ofproducts.

In the firstquarter of 2017, Tien Giang earned nearly 33 million USD by exporting rice,garments, aquatic products, processed fruits and vegetables to Japan. Theprovince also spent 24 million USD on imports from Japan, mostly garment andfootwear materials, handbags and machines.

Tien Giangprovince is now home to five Japanese projects, with a combined registeredcapital of 36 million USD.-VNA
