Tien Giang: Number of new enterprises surges

The southern province of Tien Giang recorded 556 newly-established enterprises with total registered capital of more than 3.5 trillion VND (149.3 million USD) in the first 10 months of 2018, up 8 percent and 67.6 percent year-on-year, respectively.

Tien Giang (VNA) – The southern province of Tien Giang recorded 556newly-established enterprises with total registered capital of more than 3.5trillion VND (149.3 million USD) in the first 10 months of 2018, up 8 percentand 67.6 percent year-on-year, respectively.

The increases made a record high, ViceChairman of the provincial People’s Committee Le Van Nghia has said.

There are currently 5,039 enterprisesoperating in production, business, trade and services in the locality. It alsohas nearly 61,000 business households, of which 3,830 were registered duringJanuary-October.

In the period, Tien Giang attracted 23 new investmentprojects worth more than 2.8 trillion VND (119.5 million USD). Moreover, 3.8trillion VND (162 million USD) was added to seven existing projects. Therefore,the investments the province drew in the first 10 months exceeded 6.6 trillionVND, a year-on-year rise of more than 73 percent.

Nghia stated that this year, the localityhas rolled out the red carpet for everyone who wants to start business byencouraging the startup spirit and creating favourable conditions for them.

The provincial People’s Committee held regularmeetings with enterprises and the Investment Promotion Conference 2018, hesaid, adding that the province has also prioritised administrative procedurereform and trade and investment promotion.

According to the committee, good businessdevelopment work has had positive impacts on local economic growth. As of lateOctober, retail goods andservices generated revenues of nearly47 trillion VND (2 billion USD), up 8.9 percent against the same period lastyear. Meanwhile, industrial production values surpassed 75 trillion VND, up14.2 percent year-on-year.-VNA
