Thua Thien – Hue (VNA) – A special exhibition called “For sustainable life of nature and people” opened in Hue city in the central province of Thua Thien – Hue on June 7, aiming at raising public awareness of biodiversity protection.
The four-day event is part of the “Sustainable Forest Management and Biodiversity Conservation” project with funding from the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) in Vietnam.
According to Director of the provincial Forest Protection Sub-Department Le Ngoc Tuan, the exhibition, the first of its kind in the locality in the past 20 years, urges individuals and organisations to engage in biodiversity preservation activities, support the government’s efforts to shape up a sustainable future for both nature and people, and commit not to hunt, trade and consume wildlife products.
Visitors to the exhibition will get a deeper insight into the majestic nature and successful community-based conservation stories, and see footages highlighting conservation efforts by the Bach Ma National Park, saola (Pseudoryx nghetinhensis) nature reserve in Hue, and Phong Dien Nature Reserve.
Every exhibit and biospecimen at the event is a reminder for all people to join hands and live a responsible life towards the nature.
The exhibition offers free admission to the public./.
