The total value of the scholarships is over 3.3 billion VND(143,930), with each valued from 11.5 - 30 million VND.
The ValletScholarship Fund was established in 2001 by Professor Odon Vallet fromFrance’s Sorbonne University, through the MeetingVietnam organisation. It has been the largest non-governmental scholarshipfund in Vietnam over the past two decades.
The professor uses the annual interest from his inheritance to fundscholarships for students posting outstanding academic results in France,Benin, and Vietnam.
To date, more than 40,000 outstanding Vietnamese students and pupils have beenpresented with the Vallet scholarships worth over 200 billion VND (8.72 millionUSD). In Thua Thien-Hue alone, over 4,500 scholarships have been presented tolocal students.
Meanwhile, 50 poor students with good academic performancesin the northern province of Hai Duong also received the “Sharing The Dream”scholarships, which is funded by Thailand’s SCG Group.
The total value of the scholarships is 260 million VND (11,340USD). Each university student received 6 million VND, while school students got 4million VND each.
Since 2007, Sharing The Dream scholarships have beenpresented to over 5,000 students in localities nationwide, including 100 fromHai Duong./.
