Three imported COVID-19 cases recorded on December 18

Three new cases of COVID-19 were detected over the past 24 hours to 18:00 on December 18, all Vietnamese citizens returning from abroad and being quarantine, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

Hanoi (VNA)
– Three new cases of COVID-19 were detected over thepast 24 hours to 18:00 on December 18, all Vietnamese citizens returning from abroadand being quarantine, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19Prevention and Control.

The new cases brought the national tally of COVID-19 patients to 1,410.

The new patients returned from France on flight VN5010 which landed at Ho ChiMinh City-based Tan Son Nhat airport on December 16. They tested positive forSARS-CoV-2 while in quarantine in southern Binh Duong province.

Also on December 18, three more COVID-19 patients were given the all clear,raising the total recoveries to 1,266. The fatalities remain at 35.

Among patients still under treatment, eight have tested negative for SARS-CoV-2once, two twice and five thrice.

A total of 18,084 people who had close contact with COVID-19 patients orarrived from pandemic-hit areas are being quarantined nationwide, with 219 athospitals, 15,068 at concentrated facilities and 2,797 at home or theiraccommodations.

The Health Ministry has urged the people to strictly follow the 5K motto: Khautrang (Face masks) – Khu khuan (Disinfection) – Khoang cach (Keeping distance)- Khong tap trung dong nguoi (No gathering) – Khai bao y te (Healthdeclaration) in order to prevent COVID-19 transmission./.

Hanoi tightens control, prevention of monkeypox
